I had a tree fall on my boat (Potter 15)

Need a new mast and all new rigging, where should I buy? Thank you Giorgio |

Oh, I hope the rest of the boat is okay! (And for that matter, the crew…) To the best of my knowledge, the WWP mast *after* 2003 was a
Dwyer Mast DM1 extrusion, 2"x2.5" with integral slot[1]. I believe
if you contact them directly they will have the original
dimensions on file. I am sure several people here as well as elsewhere on the web
will have the finished dimensions. Hopefully we can discover the
rigging specification as well, so you can drill and rivet to build
it anew. You can get most, if not all, of the hardware and rigging at
Duckworks[2], too. But I would suggest you contact a local rigger. Shipping a mast extrusion might be a bit pricey, but the rigger can likely get it, the hardware, and build proper rigging for it at roughly the same price as you would spend purchasing all the bits and having them shipped to you. At least ask, to get their opinion. (Few riggers I have known would want to get involved in so small a project, but maybe they can order the mast and save you some shipping costs?) Amgine

Last year I needed to replace my mast and I also opted at that time to replace all the rigging and hardware attached to the mast. From my experience the only place you should be dealing with is Dwyer. I spoke to someone at the company and they emailed me a form where I put in the information about my old mast and various measurements. They sent me the entire mast with all the rigging, new light on top plus wiring through the mast for an antenna. Everything was perfect and easy to put up. For me, I would not even think of another place.

I think I will try to rebuild it. Can anyone put links to videos of modification for the Potter 15? I remember seeing lots of videos in the past but now I cannot find them. I'm trying to get some inspirations. Thank you Giorgio

The same thing happened to our potter 15! We found a marina that is owned by former boat builders and they were able to repair it, thank God!! On Friday, May 12, 2023, giorgiosci via groups.io <giorgiosci=yahoo.com@groups.io> wrote:
