‘Quite the weekend.  Set new station records for QSO count and score.

Although we operated in the multi-single class, it’s a lot more complicated that two guys playing musical chair in front of a radio.  Alex’s prep work gets lots of credit for getting every ounce out of the antennas and the two radios.  (And this time, the system infrastructure has advanced to the point that none of the radios was fried in the endeavor.)

My XYL stayed home with a cold, so we did what bachelors do on a Thanksgiving contest weekend: ate lots of pie, and drank lots of caffeine.  (There was also a tub of Costco chocolate-covered raisins that went missing-in-action at some point, too.)  Not much sleep was had.

The log shows 1287 Qs with Japan, followed by 169 with Canada, 131 with Germany and 129 with China.  5 with American Samoa (K8H – thanks Al and Bob!).  139 countries in all.  Missed zones 34 and 37.  We worked 5 Europeans on 10m (two each of Portugal and Spain, plus Finland).

Our score got a lift from the many spots made by WVDXCers - thanks!

Great to hear so many club members enjoying the bands, and communicating via the original digital mode!

Bill and Alex, a great demonstration of what can be done if you put your minds to it.  Congrats on a stellar effort! Incredible result on 40m ... that band that Bill used to 'write off'.  no more!

Lots of great efforts from WVDXC members.  I will be anxious to see when Andy tabulates the scores and see how we fared in he PNW challenge.

Joe NK7U was operating KT7E from his Florida QTH ... but his energy level was down as he's recovering from Covid ... I'll have his score to report this afternoon

Speaking of COVID, I came down with it here in Mexico on Friday ... hope to be home in time for ARRL 10m contest.

I remember living in DC. Europe was the bread and butter, while Asia was the rarity.

Still, I've never been involved in an operation that pulled off numbers like that with any equipment or antennas.

You guys have much to teach the rest of us mere mortals.

I second Kevin’s comments on the W7RM effort way to go Bill and Alex. I did a piss poor effort due to other commitments.  Miss the KT7E multi effort on this one. Hope it doesn’t mess up the trophy effort too much. Sorry about the COVID as I think I also was suffering from it last week.

Ciao and 73
