wspr 'mode' versus 'code' confusion

I find the code to mode to WSPR/FST4W-xxx correlations confusing and where they are used equally confusing. It is my understanding that 'code' is a four bit field found in the last field of each spot

Rod, I could not run All modes for 20m--80m. I removed the additional mode on 30 & 40m and now running well.. I went to edit /etc/fstab but only found fstab.save file. No rush, could you edit system x
