About 2weeks ago, during the construction work for the relocation if the wspr receivers, I was QRV on transmit WSPR with 5wtts and many USA-Stations copied me...
Including many here in the forum and finally even Rob at Maui at two mornings...

For me it is sometimes difficult to have a good idea, how strong such WSPR 5wtts transmitter would be, if the transmitting station would run 100wtts on the same antenna in SSB. Ok, you can calculate it, but how would it really sound...?

Well my transmitting antenna was my old, large 8ele 40m vertical array, which I refurbished which was so succesful since many years.
These are 8 resonant vertical antennas on a circle of 26.5m diameter on 8km of copper wire radial network switchable for every 45deg of the azimut.

While I was reorganizing files on my PC today, I found the following 10 year old recording, which Larry, VE5UA made in Alberta, Canada, while we had daily skeds with him and Don, VE6JY on 40m (short pass just after the longpass window fades out).  Listen to this recording and notice the F/B ratio.

When we are ready with the garden work here (every 2 years I have professional tree climbers hired for cutting the trees) this antenna will be on again and perhaps also used for the Wspr-receivers...
Some RG-6 cable pulling (for rx-ants) could be done today already with nice wx... so hope to build some more antennas soon...
