Is this a comment about false decodes?

The search for "LR9XFA" produced no results

Take it easy, man.

There's room for artists, engineers, historians, mechanics, and everybody else in this sport.  And maybe, one day, one of them who isn't an electrical engineer will encounter something new.

(Says the liberal arts guy that has spent half a lifetime working in science policy, often at a pretty respectable level.)

I got a hit from 'LH2SRW' this afternoon and thought much the same as John, maybe a new one from Europe.

It happens.  Better to be nice.

My apologies to John if this came across as disrespect.  I didn't mean it that way and I have exactly the same problem, I don't know amateur prefixes and locations well at all. I too have spots I don't recognize and have to look up, e.g. UA3SRJ  and LA5YOR recently that were plausible and  I had to search on to see if they were real or not.

I read Glenn's email the way he intended it, as a genuine query.
But it is so easy to mis-interpret the emotional context of textual messages, so I can also see Edward's interpretation.
Avoiding such misunderstandings is one reason why I hold the Weekly WD Users Group Zoom call. Once you have held a few video calls with someone, I think such misunderstandings are less likely.

On the subject of false decodes, Jim Lill is working up a continually updated whitelist database which may live on wsprdaemon.org.  You can imagine that one of the many difficulties is allowing for valid single spot reports and as a result  the benefits of removing the few hundred spots per day may be outweighed by the few good single spots which are flushed.  Watch for Jim's reports.

And my apologies too if I was grumpy and misinterpreted.

Now it's back to QRZ queries for all of us!
