Inovato Quadra versus Pi?
I was told that this SBC might be similar to a Pi3 in performance....
https://www.inovato.com/product/inovato-quadra Curious if anyone has tried one of these for wsprdaemon, or based on the specs are there any opinions on the performance relative to a Pi? |

It's closer to one of the Odroid SBC.... I have run 26
channels on an Odroid XU4 8-core so I'd say one of those would
handle 8 channels of wspr smartly On 1/15/23 16:22, Bruce KX4AZ wrote:

Most top spotting sites now use i86 CPUs since a pi4 can support at most 14 channels of decoding, less if you configure WD to also decode FST4W modes (and I hope you do!) In Maui I run a $80 (used) Thinkcentre Tiny with a 4 core i5-4570T. It consumes 8 watts at idle, not much more than a Pi4, and can easily handle 4-8x the channels of a Pi4. At KFS where there are 33 rx channels, I use a $400 (used) Dell R-620 service with 2 Xeons and 40 cores. Even with decodes running on all 33 channels there are 7 cores largely idling. At KFS I am still decoding 14 channels on a Pi4b, but I had to turn down the 'wsprd' decoding intensity from WSJT-x's default -o 4 to -o 3. So for me the best performance/cost server for most sites is probably the used Thinkcentre Tiny. There are many of them offered on eBay, these for $70: On Sun, Jan 15, 2023 at 1:22 PM Bruce KX4AZ <bruce@...> wrote: I was told that this SBC might be similar to a Pi3 in performance.... --
