I'm starting this as a new topic because I'm afraid we are verging on severe topic drift where it has been.  This is  revision 02 of the earlier draft with an addition intended to help reconcile the premise that any small antenna has the same SNR irrespective of size, that bigger isn't fundamentally better, though it may be practically for improving station receive performance. 
I'll likely update it again as  a  file with different trailing numbers in the name and if I do, look further down this thread for a more recent version. I've not figured out how to simply replace one file with another on this forum.
