Copy micro SD card

Rob, I got the USB-- Micro SD card adaptor. Do you know the PI line commands to make a back-up copy?
Or do I need to move both chips to the Windows machine so that there are no open files..
Will this backup SD card be plug-and-go or will I still need to flask.

You can use the excellent "SD Card Copier" utility found on the Pi desktop at:  Pi->Accessories->SD Card Copier to create an image of the Pi's running microSD on to the microSD in the adapter:
