flrig memory manager
iu1mrd@...
Hi all.
I have a "local memory" .mat file of 200 entries in flrig 1.4.4 for my FT-897 (by the way my only, loved, little, frugal, second hand "base" rig -- for "light" portable operation I have also a XIEGU X5105 and a couple of low cost U/V handheld). I can't figure out how to migrate this .mat file to version greater/equal 1.4.4.50 If I let it as-is I got strange and undesiderable results (as I reported in an other post...) Input again by hands is out of discussion... hi... :-) Tnx in advance for any suggestion. 73 de IU1MRD |

It is very strange that you have problems with the mat file in the new versions of flrig. The same mat file here works in all versions.

I suggest that you rename the C:\Users\<login>\flrig.files to flrig.files1. Then install the latest alpha, flrig-1.4.4.65_setup..>, and then, after you run the new flrig the first time and set it up, copy the .mat file from the old directory (flrig.files1) to the new one, replacing the default .mat file in the new directory. If indeed the existing .mat file works fine with the older flrig version it should now work with the new one.

Cliff, first of all
-- tnx for your patience in helping me. -- tnx to the sw developer for sharing for free this great tool Now... I have tried to do as you suggest - no success. A couple of picture maybe can help My mat file as viewed in 1.4.4 (top and bottom of list) - all ok -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note at the beginning there is a "rosetta-stone" of mode as defined by flrig, just for debug. My mat file (same file) as viewed in 1.4.4.65 (top and bottom of list) - issue boxed in red --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In addition, when I start flrig it set-on the [SPLIT] mode of operation (then I turn it off and when I start again it again turn on split mode). As stated in the sw change log, there was a change in the mode table for ft-897 In fact in the pictures above we can note a new mode before we had only FM after we have FM and FM-N I suppose I can mange this remapping the mode number in my file... ... nevertheless why this is causing -- the mentioned SPLIT problem -- the "extra" entries in the bottom of file -- ... ... I don't know. 73 IU1MRD |

Ok, I think I understand some of what is going on.

Yes the new mode table was added so you will need to change the mode in the mat file to agree with the new table. No choice there. I suggest you use flrig itself to delete those extra lines from the file and also to correct the corrupted comment line then reenter those lines you deleted using flrig and see if they will stay correct on restart. If flrig will not allow this or they keep coming back corrupted then there is a bug in flrig that needs to be addressed or there may be a limit to how many entries are allowed that is causing this at the end of the file, but Dave Freese would have to comment on that. Regarding the Split function coming on try these steps to narrow the problem down: In Flrig: Go to config/restore and be sure that "Use xcvr data" and "Split" are unchecked. Close flrig. Make sure Split is off on the FT897. Turn the FT897 off and back on. The Split should still be off on the rig now. Start flrig, does Split come on? If all is ok then in flrig recheck the "Split" box. Exit flrig. Is split still off on the FT897? Restart flrig is all ok still, i.e. no Split on? Is so you should be good to go. If not then there may be a bug in flrig.

A) Split function coming "on".
I followed your directions, I found those options checked after UNcheck --> problem solved!!! B1) Extra lines and corrupted line at bottom of .mat file I followed your directions, extra lines were definitely deleted on the other end the corruped line appear again when I start again flrig B2) Max # of lines in .mat file Near sure the current limit is 200 rows Deleting some rows was the cure to get rid of corrupted lines (see B1) Really it seems all my problems come from exceeding rows limit... I hope the limit can be raised in a future release... C) Remap mode number in my mat file OLD MODE TABLE NEW MODE TABLE 0 "FLRIG 1.4.4 Mode: 0=LSB" ===>>> 0 "FLRIG 1.4.4.65 Mode: 0=LSB" 1 "FLRIG 1.4.4 Mode: 1=USB" ===>>> 1 "FLRIG 1.4.4.65 Mode: 1=USB" 2 "FLRIG 1.4.4 Mode: 2=CW" ===>>> 2 "FLRIG 1.4.4.65 Mode: 2=CW" 3 "FLRIG 1.4.4 Mode: 3=CWR" ===>>> 3 "FLRIG 1.4.4.65 Mode: 3=CWR" 4 "FLRIG 1.4.4 Mode: 4=AM" ===>>> 4 "FLRIG 1.4.4.65 Mode: 4=AM" 5 "FLRIG 1.4.4 Mode: 5=FM" ===>>> 5 "FLRIG 1.4.4.65 Mode: 5=FM" 6 "FLRIG 1.4.4 Mode: 6=DIG" ===>>> 6 "FLRIG 1.4.4.65 Mode: 6=FMN" 7 "FLRIG 1.4.4 Mode: 7=PKT" ===>>> 7 "FLRIG 1.4.4.65 Mode: 7=DIG" ...................................................===>>> 8 "FLRIG 1.4.4.65 Mode: 8=PKT" Tnx a lot, I'm near ok now. 73 giovanni |

That's good to hear. I'm sure Dave saw your email so maybe he will put it on his list.
