The fldigi settings information is not in that file - and the N1MM+ files should not be in OneDrive, anyway, as that has been known to cause database corruption (OneDrive does not understand how the database engine works, and if it does an automatic backup while the database file is open, it can damage the file).

When you run fldigi from within N1MM+, you are advised by the N1MM+ documentation to use a copy of fldigi that is in a non-protected location (such as C:\HamRadio\fldigi or something like that). Whichever folder you put N1MM+'s copy of fldigi in is where you will find the fldigi configuration files.

However, tinkering with the configuration files (other than renaming them and starting over) is not the easiest way to deal with this kind of problem. While you are running fldigi from inside N1MM+, use fldigi's Configure > Sound Card menu item to open the setup window for the sound card. There are several sub-tabs (Devices, Settings, etc.). Assuming fldigi is working from inside N1MM+, take careful note of all of the settings under the Devices, Settings and Right channel sub-tabs. Shut down N1MM+. Now open the stand-alone version of fldigi (the one that isn't working properly). Use its Configure > Sound Card menu item to open up the same setup window and go through all of the settings under those tabs and make them the same as they are in the working version. Click on Save, then Close, and see if that fixes it.

To answer both of your questions;

1. The IC-7100 has an internal sound card.
2. I'm using RigCat to control the radio. Radio control is working fine...
3. Same audio codec is used for both FLDigi and N1MM using FLDigi engine. And yes correctly chosen in FLDigi.
4. The IC-7100 works fine with slight volume adjustments in both USB and USB-D. Yes, tried both, and tried full range of volume adjustment.

I have N1MM logger setup to use the FLDigi engine. it opens and works just fine. Using only FLDigi is when I have no output. I can open and close each software without any adjustments, and N1MM/FLD works fine with correct output, FLDigi doesn't, no output. Back to N1mm/FLD and it works fine again. And so on.

I'm hoping someone can tell me what files N1MM stores its digital configuration in. I know N1MM writes its own config file from FLDigi the first time you open its digital window. If I can find and compare this to my FLDigi config. Perhaps I can find the difference.

I don't come to this forum too often but came here for this problem.  I run a 2m digital net and the weather is always included.  It is good to know that it is being worked on.  It happened a few revisions ago as well.

Also make sure the transmit attenuator in fldigi isn’t set too low. (right hand side below the waterfall).

Greg,

If the radio is going into TX, but no power either the radio power setting is being set to zero or close to it somehow or you have no/not enough audio getting to the radio. Are you using flrig also or just fldigi for rig control. Are you for sure in digital mode? I’m not sure on the 7100, but most likely it has to be in Digital mode to get audio from the connector on the rear.

Check your sound card settings and check to be sure the audio codecs are selected in Win 10. Be sure you have your sound card plugged in and turned on. If you are not using FLRig, be sure you have Enable FLRig Xcvr control unchecked under Configure > Rig.

Re: Waterfall Display Brightness

Jim,

The PDF manual, available from the same location as fldigi explains the waterfall controls. There’s a lot of very helpful information in the manual.

Make sure the button at the lower left of the waterfall says WF. If not click it until it does. To get you started set the numbers just to the right of the WF button to 0 and 60 respectively, left to right. That should get you some traces on the waterfall. Read starting on page 20, in the latest fldigi manual, and set the receive audio as instructed. Then adjust the waterfall level/range controls to your liking. This will give you the best setup possible.

If you’re willing to work with an alpha build you can get one here that has the WX access fixed. Realize that alpha releases may and most likely will have bugs, but generally they work well. YMMV  http://www.w1hkj.com/alpha/fldigi/

Re: fldigi audio output to relay closure

You could try a WinKeyer usb dongle to key your rig in CW mode. You can set it up in FLDIGI (Modems - CW - WinKeyer to the dongle's virtual COM port.

Be advised though that with transceiver in CW mode the FLDIGI dx spotter centers traceiver freq (CAT) on the CW sweet spot, which in my case is 1 kHz away from the signal, unless you can adjust how your rig handles frequency (CAT control). In my FT-991 it is Mem 064+065. Other DX spotters will work with CW this way though, e.g. in your log program, if CAT connected.

Re: fldigi

The link between fldigi and the Weather service has been broken because they changed the http to https. Dave knows about it and is working on a repair.

fldigi audio output to relay closure

Bo Barry <bobarr@...>

Mentioned this on the FB page, thought I might find some info here.
I'm considering a simple circuit to take the audio CW output an activate a relay so I can key my rig with it. And not go thru the USB cable in the USB mode.
Goal is to use fldigi for copying and using it in the CW mode with my rig. Not in the USB mode.
I have the simple circuit designed, but Radio Shack is so far away.. Wondering if I could find a kit somewhere.
