Re: FLDigi in LSB mode
When I downloaded the then latest alpha of flrig, AVG wanted to send both the installer and the installed flrig away for further analysis. I overrode both without a problem. When my licenses run out I am going to try Windows Defender instead. Mind you on another machine Defender moaned about them occasionally.

For my Icom IC-7300 I use either Hamlib or Flrig. The FT-DX5000 is listed in the drop downs so it should work. Make sure that you have the correct driver from Yaesu and the other settings like the baud rate matches the radio settings. Maybe someone with that radio can share their settings. 73, Ron NY3J On 1/10/21 8:29 PM, DOUGLAS FRIEDT via

Thank you very much, that was the fix! Might I ask another question? I also have an FT-DX5000 and have been able to get it to work with HRD and SDR UNO, but can’t get it to work with fldigi. I set it up just like the FT-991, but used the profile for the 5000. I suspect it is something with the menu settings in the 5000, but I have not found any setups for it on the internet. Thanks again, and take care Doug N8FRJ

Dave,
I am trying to download the setup.exe for flrig and fldigi but I am getting "can't be downloaded securely" message. I have tried this within groups.io and also the email. Same message. I do have the option to keep, but I want to make sure that it is ok. I am using Google Chrome. Thanks, Rodney - N3QLB

Re: MinGW Runtime Assertion - Assertion failed
Thank you both for your
reports of successful trouble shooting. The usual cause of the
error is a device driver that is not responding iaw

Good fix here too. I have a virtual audio device associated with another software package that when disabled allows fldigi to start up error free. Thanks to Greg for posting what you found! Re: Need some help
Your recommendation solved the problem! It was a sound card interfering ... in my case it turned out to be "C-Media PCI Audio Device". Disabling it allowed fldigi to startup error free.
Did this by opening device manager, opening sound devices, and go down the list disabling one at a time until you find the culprit. Obviously you should not disable the sound card device that fldigi is set use! In my case, I was fortunately not using the C-Media device. greg

Check the setting in Configure, IDs, RsID, Pre-Signal Tone. This will send a tone before the data is sent. Set it to zero for no tone. 73, Ron NY3J On 1/10/21 10:37 AM, DOUGLAS FRIEDT via

Carrier before data sent
#fldigi
DOUGLAS FRIEDT
Good Morning
I started using fldigi about a month ago with an FT-991. When I transmit in RTTY, CW or PSK, there is a four second carrier before any data is sent. I am using a PC with an i7 chip 2.2Ghz, 6 cores and 16GB of RAM. I close all applications except fldigi so as not to overburden the processor. I have not found any settings to adjust. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Doug N8FRJ
