What I found interesting, is that Kaspersky actually identified the specfic trojan downloader it found, and found a trojan in the laptops system memory when it performed it's advanced disinfection. I

I’ve had similar problems with JTAlert. Windows insists that it is a Trojan, and you have to go into Defender and allow it through - Although

I did pass along the info to Dave. Also I did re-download the file and Kaspersky quarantines it immediately. The odd thing is after it flagged it this morning part of their disinfection

Check under configure - IDs - RSiD and look in the bottom of the box for Pre-Signal Tone. If it is anything larger than 0.0 it will do what you are describing.

It’s happened before that virus checkers have flagged fldigi as infected, but so far I’ve never heard of a proven infection.

Yes, the normal text is transmitted without the id. But if I turn on the id it will only transmit the id with no following text, only a dead key.
