Weaving software for Android tablet

Penny Lacroix

Greetings, Weavers!

Is anyone aware of an app that will allow me to read wif files on an Android tablet (version 12)? I'd love to be able to manipulate them as well, but reading is my minimum requirement.

I've gone down a rabbit hole searching the archives of this group and learned some things along the way, but didn't find my answer.

It appears that iWeaveIt may once have been available for Android, but their website does not list anything currently.

Does anyone have current experience with the software Laura linked on CNET? It looks like it was released in 2016. That's a long time ago in software years. 😉

IWEAVEIT us no longer supported.

Us Android users have nothing that I am aware of.

I use Wif 'n Proof.  I don't use it much for editing on the tablet, mostly for helping with the threading and treadling.  So I can't give a review on how easy it is to edit, but it does make it much easier to thread the heddles and do the treadling.

iWeaveit is no longer supported for android or the google store. Sally said it had more to do with meeting google store requirements which did not work for a program like iWeaveit.  If you have it installed it will continue to work on that device . Someone has said they are working on an android program. But not there yet. So future hopes.  If you want to see the wif file and have a windows or Mac computer, download fiberworks, pixeLoom, or WeaveitPro.  As demo all will open wif files.

It is also possible to get the draft information from the wif file.  Open it in a text editor – it is a text file and it lists threading, treadling, tieup, and more.
