Thoughts on Louet Spring 2 Loom

Hi everyone. I am considering getting a Louet Spring 2 loom. (Currently I own a Schacht standard floor loom.) I am wondering what y’all think of the Louet Spring. Advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much

If no one here has an answer for you I know a few people in Austin who do.  They seem to like them. I can put you in touch if you email me off list.

Hi all
Had a Spring 1 for years  Great loom
Only stopped using it because I went for 32 Shafts and dobby

Spring should not be your first choice when doing rug weaving. Just too fine for that

I have had my Louet Spring 1 from new and am very pleased with it.  I upgraded mine to have 12 shafts and have woven quite a few rag rugs on it but would use my heavier duty loom for more robust rug weaving. Ros

I have had a 12/14 Spring 1 for about 4years. I love it. Great shed, light action. I’m short and the loom is a comfortable fit. There are taller Guild members who are equally content.  Before that I had a used Harrisville.

The Spring 2 is at least a bit more heavy duty. I have read people saying that makes it better suited to rugs. Springs and rugs is often debated. I don’t think mine is suited to a heavy one. I’m most interested in weaving cloth.

Louet is responsive, if you have questions for them. There is a Louet Spring Facebook group.
