Searching for yarn supplier
Olivia
I have a tablecloth my grandmother made which needs a repair. I would like to weave a patch for it. After analysis, I think I need 20/2 and 40/2 unbleached unmercerized cotton. I have 20/2 but haven’t been able to find a vendor for the 40/2. If you know of a vendor where I can buy a quantity of a pound or less, please pass along your suggestion, thank you.

Google lists some suppliers of 40/2 cotton. And, of course, there is 40/2 linen. I have a tablecloth my grandmother made which needs a repair. I would like to weave a patch for it. I know it’s not 40/2, but Lunatic Fringe has 30/2 unbleached unmercerized cotton in case. Here’s the link: Suzanne On Sep 2, 2022, at 6:05 PM, Olivia via groups.io <Odsshi52@...> wrote:

I don't have a name in mind, but you might look for cotton mills that
produce very fine fabrics and inquire whether they could provide you with the small quantities of yarn that you need. The only 40/2 that I have ever seen was from Lunatic Fringe and natural mercerized. They no longer carry it. Sara von Tresckow, Fond du Lac, WI sarav@... You might want to check out: https://shepherdtextiles.com/shop/p/mayan-cotton-yarn
they have natural and small amounts. |

Thank you for all the suggestions. Looks like Shepard Textiles yarn is just what I needed.

Are you still searching for 40/2 cotton Olivia? I’ve found a large cone of 39/2 NE (cotton count) in my stash. It is bleached pima cotton, but not mercerized. Do you know how much of it you will need? I would be willing to wind off some of the cone for you if you need 1 lb or less.
