cover of "A Handweaver's Source Book" by Davison
Isabelle Fusey
Does anyone know the name of the coverlet that is featured on the cover of Davison's "A handweaver's Source Book:"?
I couldn't find a reference to it in the book but maybe I didn't look hard enough. Thanks Isabelle |

Isabelle you always ask such great questions. Check out page 104. "Constant Beauty."

And now that I made my first reply, I am not sure whether you are referring to the dust jacket or the end papers. "Constant Beauty' is on the dust jacket. Cheers, Rebecca

Curious, I pulled out my copy of "A Handweaver's Sourcebook" by Davison and page 104 has 'Chrysanthemums.' I didn't find a 'Constant Beauty' listed in the Table of Contents at all. Perhaps a different edition?

Same here. My copy of the book does not have "Constant Beauty" all. Odd.

There are two (that I know of) versions of the Source Book. One is hard cover and has a brown cover, dust jacket and the end papers are red Overshot—a photo of cloth, not a draft. The other version is paperback, with the red cloth on the whole cover, no dust jacket, no end papers. The hardcover version has 224 drafts, the paperback has 146 drafts.

Ah! Thank you for solving the mystery. Must find that hardcover book now.... So the red cloth featured in both books would be Contanst Beauty then?

I do have the hard cover version; and lucky enough to have the dust cover still mostly intact. Constant Beauty is on the dust cover of my book. The end papers show the red cloth as photos.
