I'd like to mention a book that's being released this month by Virginia Gardner Troy:  "Dynamic Design: Jay Hambidge, Mary Crovatt Hambidge, and the Founding of the Hanbidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences." In the book she writes about the contributions of the couple and their contributions to 20th century art, showing many photos and illustrations of documents from their lives.  Some of you may be familiar with the  the weavings of Mary Hambidge and her Weavers of Rabun studio of the early to mid-20th century. And maybe you're aware of the Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences, an artist retreat in the mountains of north Georgia.

Dr. Troy, who teaches art history at Berry College, has written two other books with textile focus: "The Modernist Textile: Europe and America, 1890-1940" and "Anni Albers and Ancient American Textiles: From Bauhaus to Black Mountain."  A disclaimer--I contributed a chapter to the book in which I described my associations with the Hambidge Center over the past four decades.
