Many thanks to Maggie and Marg for the Colormart reference. I was hoping to get the 'many ends wound on a cone' but they didnt feel comfortable using the 2/80nm (could get loops or snags) so I just ordered small cones of 2/51nm and will wind several ends together myself. Nice selection of many things, not a lot of any one thing - but I'm happy to have them as another resource. So thanks again for the good suggestions, everyone. I knew that Weavetech could help. Jan, great idea and its good to know that we have a yarn source fairly close (I’m just north of Seattle) but they dont have anything finer then a 10/2 cotton and no search engine to go straight to a fiber/yarn/size. I did try the chat just to make sure. These folks appear to be more in the medium weight weaving sizes - but its still a good source to have. THANKS!!

Hi Liz,
I was given multiple cones of parallel-wound yarns. They are marked Yarnia - Portland’s only DIY yarn store. It is now online only. Go to customyarn.com or yarniapdx.com. There is a cute video showing such a cone being wound. You can design your own combinations or purchase from inventory. Jan Silver |

I have an old cone of specialty yarn and would love to find more
50/2/5 pearl cotton This is size 50 single - hence the 50 Plied - hence the 2 5 strands of this 2 ply They are not twisted together but are simply wound together onto the cone They look almost like a ribbon yarn until you see that its actually like 5 sewing threads wound onto the cone together I could purchase a 50/2 pearl cotton if its out there somewhere and wind 5 ends together but would rather purchase a cone. Please look thru your stash. I didnt even know that I had it in mine (purchased maybe 20 years ago) and who knows who had it before me. Thanks.
