Hi Everyone
A lot of weavers yes have a dobby loom or a computer driven loom. But some weavers like myself have a loom with lets say 8 -12 treadles. Do any of you use a temp treadle?

I just recently purchased the Tempo Treadle and have found it to be very useful. The best way to check it out would be to go directly to tempotreadle.com and download the manual and read the features. I am using it on my Schacht standard and my Louet Jane and so far I am really liking it. You cannot see what you are weaving like on a compudobby but it does tell you what treadles to use and it can keep track of how many picks.
so when I am not using my Louet Magic Dobby it is nice to have a bit of help on my non computerized looms. Cindy G |

Dear Joe,
I have the tempo treadle and find it to be extremely useful. I have one base unit and three treadle arrays. One each for my 8h baby wolf, 8 Harrisville and my 8h Jane table loom. I can keep my place in much more complex treading patterns and also use it in thread assist mode for complicated threadings. In fact I am weaving a braided twill from hand weaving.net that I never would have tried because the threading and treadling were so complex. The folks at Tempo Treadle are very helpful and you only need one base unit even if you want to you is on multiple looms. If you don’t see your loom in their online catalogue, call and see if they have or can build a treadle array for your type of loom. Hope this is Helpful. Nancy Warren in SC coming out of lurking. |

Joe, I have used Tempo Treadle on a 4 shaft Wolf Pup, and it was very helpful for long treading repeats. After I sold that loom, I transferred my Tempo Treadle to an 8 shaft Louet Jane (table loom). It works well with this loom and I’ve woven several projects without any errors. The technology is simple. It’s very easy to use, and I get great technical support from the folks at LoftyFiber. Highly recommended!

I don’t use the Tempo Treadle but the is an App, iWeaveIt, that does track both threading and treadling that you can download to your smartphone. You can upload WIF files or create your own. It’s also significantly less expensive than the tempo. It also can be taken to any loom and isn’t attached to just one loom at a time. Joe, I’ve had TT since very early on and its marvelous for my needs. Louet Spring, Baby Wolf and the Pup, and I had it on a large Harrisville before selling that one. The unit unplugs and you can carry it to whatever loom you want to use, and then back again. I always use the thread assist, but then use my drafting printout to proof my threading every 40 threads or so. I use Fiberworks and the two work really well together.

I set the TT to give me an ‘error’ message on my treadling...not an ‘ok’ for every shot. Most of my treadlings are in the 40ish range for a complete pattern, however I’ve woven large units that require 360 shuttle shots to complete a unit. I’m always telling folks that I’d rather know right away with an error message than find my mistake in the cloth after 5 inches. Even walking my treadles in rhythmic fashion, I can sometimes ‘catch’ an odd treadle. This program will save you. In short, I’m TT’s biggest fan and I’d love to talk with anyone considering it. Hi Everyone,
I have been using Tempo Treadle since 2016. I love it! I have it on my Schacht looms: Mighty Wolf, 8s Baby Wolf, and 4s Wolf Pup. It is also available on many other loom makes and models. It allows treadling of long and complicated treadlings. The buzz for incorrect treadling keeps me ‘honest’ on simpler patterns and is a good alert if a treadle tie up cord not intended to be in use loops over the end of a treadle. I have used it while demonstrating weaving and it has allowed me to weave structures other than 2/2 twill.
You will need weaving software in order to move the .wif file to the control unit. If your wif contains the weft color changes, Tempo Treadle will alert you of that in addition to the treadle sequence. Tempo Treadle is a full featured tool. I highly recommend it! A friend was able to weave ‘Lee’s surrender after she purchased TempoTreadle.
On top of all the benefits of the product, the Lofty Fiber folks are technically astute and easy to work with. I hope this helps, Debbie Debbie Cummings in PA

No, for the smaller looms I use Fiberworks to print out the threading, tieup, and treadling. I use a big kid’s bag clip to hold the paper and a paperclip to note my place. Electronically, if I had an iPad or Chromebook, I would buy the iWeaveIt app with the active treadling option. The smartphone app does not have the active treadling option. With the active treadling, you see the pick on the screen, then after treadling that pick you tap the screen and it advances a pick. Doreen |

I make some complex patterns on an 8 shaft CM loom and wanted to get a
tempo treadle for it. They only want to make them for standard, mass produced looms that they can sell many of them from one "fitting". They wanted nothing to do with my old barn frame loom. You may be able to interest them in your AVL. Good luck. Sandra |

I have the treadle tracking option on my phone in iWeaveIt. It’s with the threading option.

I was going to do a lot of updating to my AVL loom. I was thinking about adding a dobby and a few other things. I was told what I would like to do could be done but the cost was more then the benefit of the investment. So in talking to a weaving friend. I
was asked if I liked the loom. I said yes very much so. My friend said, then weave and keep enjoying.
I am so glad Sara Von T. Took the time to show me how weaving soft ware works. Sara was working with the kinds of weaving soft ware she has with a touch screen lap top. I had seen all of the advantages over using a mouse. I said if I am going to get in to using
weaving soft ware, a touch screen is a must. I was shown two types of weaving soft ware. From what I have learned is weaving soft ware woks with a weavers, back round weaving education. Sara helped and I picked the best one for me.
Then came along a heath problem. That put a stop to things for a while.
While I could not weave I spent time looking at you tube and found a video about the tempo treadle. I liked what I had seen and how the tempo treadle worked. I found a couple of more videos and I liked what I saw more. So I did a bit of digging and I called
Lofty Fibers. I talked to a nice lady that answered all of my questions. But after I got off the phone. I came up with one more. Can I beat the weft more then once with out the program moving to the next pick of weaving?
I was told that tempo treadle has not been designed to be fitted to a AVL loom, with treadles. That the company is working on a tempo treadles that will work on all looms. It is in the design stages right now and it will not be ready for a year yet. But as
I get older a year moves by quick. I then asked about Tempo Weave I was told that tempo weave is being redesigned and will be out on the market in a short time, a couple of months. I do not have any idea as of yet to how the tempo weave soft ware works. But
I can't help but wonder if the tempo treadle and the tempo weave would work the best together all form the same company. Yes I was told Fiber Works soft ware works great with tempo weave.
I saw all of the functions of tempo Treadle and how they work. I wish there was a video of how a weaving design was moved from the computer to the sim card. I would like to have seen what is involved. From computer to sim card to Tempo treadle to weaving.
I like very much what I had seen, It is nice to see all of the reply's on this topic of happy weavers. I will buy one.
Yesterday my friend Dan was here he has helped me with all of my computers to this point. I told Dan a while back I am done with colored pencils and graph paper. Dan has been looking for a lap top for me. One has been found. 17.5 screen. Bigger is better for
me to see. With the things Sara told me I should have for best color. I do not need the ports to hook the computer to the lift box, in a computer driven loom. The computer is out of stock till about the 15th of February. The order will be placed.
Weaving soft ware is not made the right way as I see it. In the kinds I have seen and looked at. If a weaver like myself is a rag rug weaver a tabby or binder thread is used in the most basic of two shaft weaving like log cabin or any simple block weave structures.
This function is only on the better of the two kinds of weaving soft ware each company makes. Most of the other extra functions I will never use in 12 shaft weaving. There is a way around this in the sample designs I have done. But do I have to have weaving
soft ware with the tabby or binder function to work tempo treadle. I think yes. So I am not ready to buy weaving soft ware just yet. I need to know more about tempo weave soft ware first.
I see only one problem I will have. I have a side tie up on my AVL loom the clips will not and I do mean will not hold all of the texolv cords to do a 12 shaft tie up. It is a tight fit in tieing the loom up to 6 treadles. I have to say bob K has helped me
with little things in the past. So I will ask Bob K for his input on this little problem. Not yet, but in the near future.
