Noise-canceling headphones while weaving
One more option that I use are drummer’s headphones. They are not wireless, but I plug them into my system or an old iPod for music. They deaden the noise of the air shuttle and lift, but I can still

Not that it matters at this point, but my understanding is that it works with any WIF file, regardless of the design software. The issue I had is that AVL Drive and none of its connected apps ( Admin

I have never been able to get it to work, either, in the past two years. Three different Macs, two OS versions, various browsers. Janice

AVL CD Cartridge
Does anyone use a cartridge with their CD and if so, what software are you using to program it? I use Weavemaker on a Mac and it's been discontinued. Still works okay, but I don't want to get stuck! T

seeking advice about Fiberworks PCW for Macs
FWIW- I have El Capitan on my older Mac Powerbook and it works fine for designing. I don’t use it to run the dobby but I do program my ancient cartridges (CD I & II) using a Keyspan adapter. Janice

Sticky Shed
Detangler. Credit goes to someone on one of these weaving lists who suggested it. Overspray also makes the floor slippery! Janice

Sticky Shed
I used Cowboy Magic on a fine, white wool/silk, cashmere, mohair loop warp. I mixed some with water in a spray bottle and sprayed the warp behind the harnesses. My sett was looser and great on my 12”

Having tension issues on AVL loom
As I started weaving this morning, I also realized that you have the upper cross member at the very back. It needs to be connected through the empty hole you see just to the inside. The hole it leaves

When my beam is in the upper position, as well as the cord wrapping around 3 times, it attaches to the frame at the top, not the bottom. Janice

Resources for Fine threads/count
I haven’t seen this one mentioned so I don’t know if there’s something I’m missing but Venne in NL has 70/2 mercerized cotton in a multitude of colors on small spools or kilo cones. I’ve never ordered

Strickler 8 Shaft errata
Does anyone know of an errata page for the book? I sampled pg. 236, draft 760,761, and 762. 761 is fine, 762 is clearly wrong in software and the sample. I did not see it listed on Interweave's site.

Fireside rotary temples on a 60" AVL
I have them on my 60", 24H and am happy with them. It does shorten the shed but the only problem I've ever had (after hundreds of yards) is what I assume is static. I've gone to using the older style
