Re: visiting Florence and Rome
In Florence, see if you can join a guided tour of the Lisio Foundation for Silk Arts https://www.fondazionelisio.org/en/ to see skilled professional weavers using manual Jacquard looms.

Re: AVL shaft randomly dropping
Hi Carole
I’m using an old Compu Dobby I and recently had the same issue. In my case it was shaft 8. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t rise when called for, sometimes it rose then

Re: AVL shaft randomly dropping
Hey i have alot of experience if it is a mechanical dobby. The biggest thing is to make sure the dobby arm is aligned properly so the dobby cables are right in the middle of the slots on the dobby

Re: AVL shaft randomly dropping
I have the same thing on #3 and typically when I’m chugging along. I think sometimes the heddles at the end of the shaft get tangled and it pops it out of the eyelet.

AVL shaft randomly dropping
For no apparent reason my number 7 shaft is dropping randomly. I am using 8 shafts currently and wove about 14 inches correctly before this started. Any suggestions to resolve are welcome.

Re: Shaped by the Loom: Weaving Worlds in the American Southwest - Exhibition at Bard Graduate Center
I'd like to see it online but don't see any other info about how. Perhaps I'll need to wait until it opens for links etc

Re: CWJ
My CWJ arrived yesterday and I'm way out here in Atlantic Canada! Yes in a paper envelope.
Thank you to Ruth, Lynn and to all who contribute to getting out our excellent journal.

In addition, that clear packaging is recyclable. We are using it in the US and overseas. For some reason the postage jumps sky high when sent to Canada in those clear envelopes, so those are sent in

Re: CWJ
Just a note on the CW journal and current packaging. It is truly nice! I can see when my membership expires on the label and the packaging protects the journal yet shows it off. Kudos to everyone
