The Leclerc doubling stand says it is actually for 3 strands of yarn because one cone can go on the floor if it is mounted on the wall.

Oh darn, I was hoping to use it for my stock of 140/2 silk. I’m wanting to use them tripled in a warp.

Denise, you could try Lone Star Loom Room, as she sells the Venne yarn.
I must add a note! The device can only be used with the grey Venne cones.

Nancy, I think you're looking for me and my sister, Rosemary. We're both still here, barely old enough to get the vaccine (sorry, Nancy, we're both under 80), and both very active with Central Coast

Re: Multi yarns used as one
Well Penny, I happen to own a yarn twister from Venne-Colcoton Unikat. A maximum of 9 cones fit in the device. For Stubenitsky Code I used three cones of 20/2 mercerized cotton for warps and wefts.

In addition to Liz's suggestion, keep your hand very close to the bobbin,
quill or pirn so the threads cannot separate on the way to winding on.

Multi yarns used as one
Reading The Stubenitsky Code, it looks as if on occasions, 3 strands of fine yarn are used as one, in warp and weft.Made me wonder if anyone has a good method for winding two or three yarns together

Re: Fiber Question
On an industrial level, which is where the vast majority of fibres are processed, the most cost effective materials are used, these are low foaming detergents. The wash out from this is not accepted
