Very soon I'll be laying track across two swing gates. Both gates are two
levels of track. When a gate is open I want the track on the gate - and the
approaches on either side - to be dead

They show one PL10 having Track Power IN

If you flip the wires on the bridge you would find the short circuit would go away until you rotate the bridge. You need an auto reverser added.
