I agree with Alan. However the units will still be an advantage in lighted
cars (pass/caboose) to keeping them from flickering over dead sections.

If you have them use them.

Jack,

DCC has a constant voltage on the track. So you naturally get constant
lighting with DCC. You don't need to add anything or use constant lighting
circuits.
