The truth is most of my track was pre-weathered before I put it in. (
other words it was rusty already ) For the really heavy red rust I start
with a "stinky stick", about the size of a cigar, rubber filled with
carbide dust. I used the radial arm saw to cut one in half, the carbide
dust ruined the saw blade in one cut! Any how the Scotch brite wheels
tend to smooth small scratches and not remove any more metal.
I'm sure the isopropyl alcohol is fine on newer track, but is too late
