I have a young man interested in weather spotting and supporting local Emergency Management. He considers himself as a Novus “chaser” and interested in doing more through volunteering.

I’ve encouraged him to look into Amateur radio and the ARES or even skywarn. Along with some other trainings to help him progress in his interest.

I’m wanting to get him in the right hands to help him in getting his license. We all know finding the right mentor is important to keep him grounded and headed in the “right direction”

His name is Nathan Koenig and is probably 19 or 20. Living in the Kearney area.

I’ve turned him on to the NIMS courses and sent him some you tube videos on studying for the Amateur radio license.

In March he plans on taking the NWS spotter training.
