Here you go, but as I said earlier, it shows no dupes but thinks thee are 7:

Re: Cannot sync database

Hi Bruce,

If there are no files with names like 'Exception yyyy-mm-dd.log", that is good, and even that bit of information helps me.

If QSO Relay detects any duplicate records in your HRD Logbook when you try to synchronise databases, it will display the following error message:

When you click the OK button, QSO Relay will not continue with the database synchronisation process, and will simply report that it is finished.  Whenever you run a database sync (regardless of the outcome), a report file is created in the following folder (assuming your username is AH0U):

C:\Users\AH0U\Documents\QSORelay

Can you share the latest Sync Report yyyymmddhhmmss.txt from this folder?

I deliberately duplicated a contact in my logbook, ran the database sync and QSO Relay produced this report warning me of the duplicates and that the sync will not work until it is fixed:

2017-08-24 15:20:23.1811 Synchronise databases started
2017-08-24 15:20:23.2681 The following duplicate contacts where detected in HRD Logbook:
2017-08-24 15:20:23.2686   Time On: 2017-04-03 05:09:00 Call: 4W/YB3LZ   Band: 20m    Mode: JT65   Duplicates: 2
2017-08-24 15:20:23.2686 You will need to delete the unwanted rows before trying to synchronise the databases
2017-08-24 15:20:41.2589 Time elapsed: 00:00:18.0778375
2017-08-24 15:20:41.2589 Synchronise databases finished

After deleting one of the duplicated rows, the database sync ran successfully and produced the following report:

2017-08-24 15:21:19.6305 Synchronise databases started
2017-08-24 15:21:19.7632 HRD Logbook contains 1296 rows
2017-08-24 15:21:21.0530 1296 rows synchronised in QSO Relay
2017-08-24 15:21:21.1672 Time elapsed: 00:00:01.5366951
2017-08-24 15:21:21.1672 Synchronise databases finished

Edited

honestly I do not understand the instructions...I am old non computer guy trying to get by...I did clean out the program and reload it but now when I try to sync. the log, it says there are dups again....I read the dup report and it says there are 7 but lists none and the last time I had this working yesterday , I eliminated all the dups showing then so I have no idea what it is finding and neither does the software hi hi
I have looked in C:\Users\AH0U\AppData|Roaming|VK2BY\QSORelay and the only files there are a CONFIG file and my log file.. there is no exception file...Now when I try to sync. the log I get the message that there are dups but instead of clicking OK I am letting it run and it says it sync. the database so I will let it go and see what happens.
Thanks for the response and I hope I can get this to work as it is slick when it does

Hi Bruce,

I think this is related to your Synchronize Error Message post, so follow the steps in my reply there, and we will get this fixed for you.

Hi Bruce,

Can you read the Reporting an Issue topic and follow the steps to provide the information that will help diagnose your problem?  At the very least, follow step 6 and Zip up all the files in the specified folder.

I suspect you a have 'cached contact' that QSO Relay is trying to log but can't, and the database sync. is not proceeding.

I also gets this error and I am using HRD Ver. 6.4.0.780... seems to log Ok but the JTAlerts are crazy and I think it is related to this issue....my JTAlerts says I need every station that it decodes hi hi... when I first installed QSO Relay it synced. fine but now I just get the error message

Synchronize error message

Bruce Croskey

QSO Relay works  fine and loges into my HRD log fine but when I try to sync. the log I get an error message saying "The given key was not present in the dictionary" and when I click on the OK it says unable to sync are you sure your logbook is open and it is... but the JTAlert keeps reporting I need every state that is decoded and I believe it is related to the inability to sync the log... any ideas??

Thanks Chris.
A modest green stamp donation is on the way via snail mail.
I'm sure you can use a few $ U.S.

Hi Randy,

I am pleased you find QSO Relay useful.

A 'contribution' is not expected, but always greatly appreciated.

I do chase DX when I find the time, and often QSL direct.  So a couple of IRCs/green stamps in the mail would get used.  I don't want to publish bank account details online.

My contact details are available on my website at http://www.vk2byi.com.au/contact/.

PAY PAL / CONTRIBUTION.

I would be happy to donate to help support QSO Relay, but I don't have a Pay Pal account, and have no intention of opening one. Is there another means to contribute ?

Thanks,

Re: QSORelay Upgraded Now Double or Triple posting to HRD Log

Chris VK2BYI

Hi Everyone,

Please be aware that if the version of JTAlert being used supports HRD v6.3 or later logging, and that is the currently selected logger, then do not have QSO Relay running at the same time - otherwise duplicate contacts will be logged in HRD Logbook.  One coming from JTAlert directly, and the other from QSO Relay.

QSO Relay was written for the purpose of relaying contacts when the version of JTAlert being used does not support direct HRD v6.3 or later logging.

When using QSO Relay, select Standard ADIF File logging in JTAlert.

Hi Bob,

That message is coming from JTAlert and refers to it not being able to communicate with WSJT-X.

I see your post on HamApps, which is the correct place to report this problem.

Here is a copy of the error I got today.

I did not get it or see it the other day.

A new configuration file is out for TQSL adding FT8 & T10 modes. To install open TQSL it should notify you on screen and follow prompts to install. Also you can use HELP and check for updates follow prompts to install.

Chris:

No problem. I sent the same message to HamApps and just waiting on their reply.

If it comes down to it, I will just get rid of one of the JTAlert’s on one of the programs.

Sorry Bob, Doh!  I gave this some more thought and just remembered that QSO Relay will not log duplicates.  I can't believe I forgot this, I wrote the bloody thing!

If QSO Relay receives more than one contact with the same QSO Date, Time On, Call, Band and Mode, it will be rejected:

So these duplicates must be arriving in HRD Logbook via some other path.

No problem at all Karel. Glad to help.

My doctor gave me the flu vaccine a couple of weeks ago, so fortunately I should avoid it!

It sounds like QSO Relay is responding to multiple UDP datagrams to log the one contact.  I don't know, but I suspect you may have to change the configuration settings in either JT65-HF and/or WSJT-X so that communications between them and the two instances of JTAlert are kept separate.

I will leave it to others more knowledgeable than me on how to setup multiple instances like this.  Maybe a post on the HamApps Support site will get you better advice than I can give.
