New to this group, install questions
Bob Davet
Just downloaded QSORelay and manuals. Have it installed. Have my HRD logbook selected(access). Have synchronized it and it worked. Tried to pull of the delete entry section to just look and nothing comes up in that section. What have I done wrong?? What settings have I not set up correctly?? I am running JTalert 2.8.7 right now. Did not want to upgrade till I knew that QSORelay was working. I am running the HRD 6.4.0.647 Thanks Bob W8RID

You need to select "Synchronise Databases", this will then mirror your HRD Logbook in the SQLite database. Bruce VK2RT

Synchronise Databases
Mike Steiner
Just wanted to say that, "Synchronize Databases" took way longer than I thought it should've taken, after reading what it said in the install PDF. It took well over 10 minutes for more than 6,000 QSO's. However the program is working great and I'm trying to enjoy the new features of JT Alert since I stopped with the old version. 73 Mike K7QDX

Hello all
I was pleased to see another user comment on the sync time, no issues here for time as 20000 + in log and a very useful resource.
Thank you again

David,
Don't get me wrong... I was just surprised of how long it took, when it says less than a minute, and mine too awhile. Love the program, and now enjoying the new features that JTAlert add since stopped at 2.8.7.

Re: Frequency Error
Hi Clovis, The QSO data coming from JTAlertX contains the Freq value in MHZ as per the ADIF standard. It is stored in the QSO Relay SQLite file as KHz which is how Log4OM stores it, and it is relayed to HRD as Hz which is how is it stored there. We cannot reproduce the problem you report, and no other users have reported anything similar as well. So all I can suggest at the moment is that the frequency was not obtained correctly from your transceiver via CAT control by WSJT-X. You could open the WSJT-X log directory by selecting 'Open log directory' from the 'File' menu, and open the 'wsjtx.log' file and see what frequency was logged there for that QSO. Here is a sample from my 'wsjtx.log' file: 2017-Apr-03,05:09,4W/YB3LZ,PI21,14.078307,JT65,-17,-17,,JT65 Sent: -17 Rcvd: -17, And here is the same contact from my 'wsjtx_log.adi' file: <call:8>4W/YB3LZ <gridsquare:4>PI21 <mode:4>JT65 <rst_sent:3>-17 <rst_rcvd:3>-17 <qso_date:8>20170403 <time_on:4>0509 <band:3>20m <freq:9>14.078307 <station_callsign:6>VK2BYI <my_gridsquare:6>QF55mx <comment:26>JT65 Sent: -17 Rcvd: -17 <eor> As you can see the frequency is in MHz, and it was for a 20m contact on a calcuated RF frequency of 14.078307 MHz (my rig was tuned to 14.077). This has been converted to 14077 KHz and stored in the QSO Relay SQLite file, and was then converted to 14077000 HZ and stored in HRD Logbook which is displayed as 14.077.000. If you wish, you can send my your 'wsjtx.log' or 'wsjtx_log.adi' files, along with the QSO Relay SQLite file and I will take a look for you. 73 Chris

Made the mistake of not creating the SQLite database. Now that I have that done It syncs and entries come up in the Delete Entry box. But.......Not all of my calls are in there?? I have 1757 entries. That earliest is from 2007 and the last is from 2015. Where did all my 2016 and 2017 ones go? My SQLite database is only showing 1128kb and the HRD log is showing 3216kb. I know that HRD is Access and SQLite is something else. But where are all of my other entries? Bob

Re: Synchronise Databases
Hi Mike and David, I am not happy with the times you quote and believe some work needs to be done on my part to improve the sync times. During testing we were getting figures of a minute or two, with about 4000 QSOs. However, my colleagues and I are using Microsoft SQL Server for the HRD Logbook database, and that may make a difference. So, forgive me for being a little optimistic with my statement in the documentation However, 10 minutes is way too long. I will start profiling the Sync Database code and see what I can do to improve it, but it will take sometime (no pun intended). In the meantime, it is only necessary to do a Sync Database just before you do a Scan Log and Update in JTAlertX to update its Wanted Alert requirements, which depending upon your operating habits might only be daily or even weekly. 73 Chris

More on Synchronizing DB
Hello Chris I sent you an email about my attempts at synchronizing earlier today after installing your Relay software. After reading here about the other users and it taking a longer than expected time I decided to let the process run and it did for over an hour it was still going when I stopped it with task manager. This time it has installed 21000 of my HRD log of over 23000 contacts. What is in the Relay DB is all of my JT contacts and more so I may just let it ride. I can also report successfully using Relay tonight and logging 2 QSO`s into HRD 6.4.0.647 Chris this is just great. Appreciate greatly you sharing your programming skills with us. Chris do you know if I try to synchronize again will it resume where it left off or start again? Thanks very much 73 Morris WA4MIT

Not logged error
I'm getting a popup box every log attempt that says the QSO wasn't logged to HRD yet the QSO does show up in HRD. Anyone with ideas? Hank W6IR

Re: Not logged error
Check Settings in JTAlertX Logging -> Log4OM Do you have the option ticked "Automatically send a second logging request if the first fails" ? Bruce VK2RT

Re: More on Synchronizing DB
Hi Morris, Each time the sync process is run, QSO Relay has to compare all rows in both databases to determine the necessary changes to be made in the QSO Relay DB, so it still may take a significant amount time to sync on the next attempt. It is possible that another process such as antivirus scanning software or Microsoft's Compatibility Telemetry service could have been running at the same as the sync and caused high disk I/O utilization, and your next scan might be a lot quicker, but with 23000 rows it may not. It is more than obvious that I need to improve the performance of the sync process, so this will get my immediate attention and I hope I can make some substantial improvements in the coming days. I am sorry, but you will have to bear with the slow grind in the meantime. 73 Chris

Re: Frequency Error
Thanks for the feedback Clovis This may be an issue with Windows Regional Settings where a comma "," is being used as the Mhz separator as shown in the WSJT-X frequency window. In our case the Windows Regional Setting is a dot ".". We are currently investigating this issue now Clovis. DE Bruce VK2RT

Contact was not logged in QSORelay SQLite database
snack@...
Greetings from Finland
First thank you so much that finally we have solution use HRD6 with jtalertx, many of the JTDX users with jtalertx have get this work but some how i just can get this work. Tried with two different PC:s one with Windows 7 and one with Windows 10. I have disabled firewall, uninstalled, reinstalled, checking my settings many times but still when i try log a QSO i got "Contact was not logged in QSORelay SQLitedatabase" I just not understand what is wrong or what i do wrong because i got same error with two different computers as i said. Only what works to me is Sync with sqlite file and HRD logbook Sqlite file is 36KB when i create it, sync with HDR works fine no problem, but when i try log a QSO i got error. Please look attachments my pics from my settings. I would appreciate it if someone could help me and show me where i do mistake or wrong or do i have missed something Best regards OH8EJW, Mikko

Re: New to this group, install questions
Hi Bob, They may be there. You can re-sort the rows in the grid by clicking on the column headings - so if you click on QsoDate it will re-sort by date in one direction, and clicking again it will sort in the other direction. That might help in finding them in the grid, but you may have already figured this out and they are missing. It is already on our road map to add a search facility and row count to this dialog which will be in the next release. You will then be able to more easily confirm if the sync brought all rows down from HRD to QSO Relay. In the meantime, would you mind zipping up your HRD Access MDB file and emailing it to me, so I can try and reproduce the issue here? I will keep your log private and destroy it afterwards. Also, you could look in the AppData folder for the application - C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\VK2BYI\QSORelay, and see if any exceptions have occurred during the sync. If there is an exception log there (Exception yyyy-mm-dd.log), can you send it to me as well? If the AppData folder is not visible in Windows explorer, you will have to select the Hidden Items control to make it become visible: 73 Chris VK2BYI

Re: Contact was not logged in QSORelay SQLite database
Hi Mikko, When you created the QSORelay.SQLite database file, it would have been located in the AppData/Roaming/VK2BYI/QSORelay folder, did you copy that file to the folder C:\Users\Documents\QSORelay ? Make sure the QSORelay.SQLite file is located where you are pointing to it. It should not matter where you have the QSORelay.SQLite file located but try creating a new QSORelay.SQLite file where it wants to create by default in the Roaming area and then select it there and also point to it there in JTAlertX. Re: Not logged error
Hi Hank, QSO Relay may be checking too soon after forwarding a QSO to HRD Logbook. So we will have to put a short delay and a retry when trying to verify if the HRD Logbook actually logged the contact, This will be added as soon as possible. 73 Chris
