Clue #5

Allison Wonderland

Here is the new clue:

Clue #5
Things looked rosy, a pocketful of posey.
We remember it all too well.
We were happy back then but beyond our ken:
It soon would all go to hell.

And here are the previous clues:

Clue #4

We’re moving ahead, no oncoming dread.

Our future’s in our hands.

This new term is about what’s firm

Let’s avoid the shifting sands.

Clue #3

No time, old sport, to play and cavort.

Pursue the grail with your schemes!

Out at night? Then follow the light

To cross the way to your dreams.

Clue #2

Stay away from links and risky hijinks.

Disturb not ground, tree or trail.

Don’t wait for last clue to know what to do;

This year you’ll figure or fail.

Clue #1

Be it turmoil endemic or global pandemic

It’s been a tough year for us all.

So rather than punt, we renewed this year’s hunt:

Join us, it’ll be a ball!

Don’t be odd, stay in your pod.

Keep six feet away from strangers.

Wear a mask when on your task

To keep all safe from dangers.

I don't really like it but I'm moving my 10 votes to Keller.

No wait, I think I am sold on Hidden Falls again. I'm putting my votes back there.

I feel like Como, maybe near Churchill St & Como Blvd (which is single lane one way roads) We’re moving ahead, no oncoming dread.

No time, old sport, to play and cavort., Let’s avoid the shifting sands., so not near the baseball fields or shores of Lake Como.

Things looked rosy, a pocketful of posey. - within sight of the Conservatory and/or carousel

We were happy back then but beyond our ken (beyond one's range of sight) - Medallion has been at Como many times before, but this time it's not near where it was hidden before, you can't see previous medallion locations from here

That's my early morning thoughts on the matter anyway.

Had a similar thought RE lake como whose size and name has shifted from originally a large shallow lake named Sandy Lake to the current smaller Como Lake.

To me it means avoid lake como, while I still think the puck is still in como park.

What about the idea of a river flowing one way?

Does anyone else find the spelling of Posey to be relevant? It's not spelled like the flower from the nursery rhyme, instead this spelling is defined as:

(of a person or their behavior) affected and attempting to impress others; pretentious.

I thought it referred to 2014 when the medallion was found in a Jeans pocket near the street car shed in Como.

I’m leaning towards Hanson Park in New Brighton. Any thoughts on that?

Just read about the ultimate end of the McKenty family (namer and promoter of Lake Como), clue 5 seems to fit that tragic family... if you still think it’s at como.
