Gents Clock whats missing?

Looks like a very early gents tel-tale nightwatchman clock, holes in base would be where the electromagnetic hole punching devices were fitted. These clocks had a horizontal paper disc just above the base, is there any evidence of a gear to drive a vertical rod down from the movement to the base?

Here is a Gents cased fusee clock which is in a mahogany case of a shape and style I've not seen before, question is whats missing, it doesn't look like a nightwatchmans clock especially with it having had terminals to front of case, any
