Transit service increases effective Monday, February 8 #VTA

All:

I've just learned VTA will increase service on several bus lines effective Monday, February 8.  Information on that can be read here:

Two other service modifications will be made by VTA effective February 8:

  • 523 – End weekday service at San Jose State University instead of Berryessa (North San Jose) BART
  • 64B – End Saturday & Sunday service at San Jose State University instead of McKee/White in San Jose

More specific information on service increases for the bus lines(s) you take can be read here.

All of this is being done to address "pass ups" that have occurred since VTA restarted collecting transit fares in August.  "Pass ups" are where buses must leave passengers behind at bus stops due to overcrowding of buses.  To give you an idea on how problematic this is: in October 2020 alone, more than 17,750 people were passed up by VTA.

What are your thoughts on VTA's upcoming service increases?  Please discuss here.
