small scale trim & fabric

Freydis Svensdottir <freydis@...>

Does any one know of a source for fabric that has printed small scale
patterns? Or Trim that is 1/4 in. or less. I am looking for 1/8 to
1/4 in. width trim (with woven, jaucard or similar) printed patterns
on them? I can no longer find this type of trim. I am hoping that
some one else may have found a source.

Thanks Every One.

Welcome! Denise
=================
I found your group after seeing a link on the American Girl message board.
I had posted about looking for patterns to fit the AG mini doll my daughter
just got. I also have an old Penny Brite doll from the 60s.

I am mainly interested in historical and fantasy clothing.

I live in Wisconsin.

re Resources wanted

Hazel Dowd <hazel.dowd@...>

Sue, I have silk Georgette in white, off white, cream. pale pink, pale peach, pink, aqua, pale aqua, brown, navy, purple, lavender, yellow, deep beige etc. I can also get other shades but this would take a couple of weeks as the warehouse is closing for the Christmas holidays tomorrow. I can also get Habotia to match.

Best Wishes

Ignore this post there is no record of this IT ever having been a member
and it is being reported to Yahoo. DO NOT click on the link it is PORN
these are common and now new members are totally moderated and will
remain that way until they have posted. I did not know that this person
had posted until I got up (a little later than usual as the kids let me
sleep in..... odd on vacation for them to do that but hey!) I will talk
to Yahoo about this and see if they can track down the spammer and help
me ban them for good since I have no record of the member ever joining
which I HAVE to approve in the first place....unless a "doll or mini
spammer faked the join box" but that would make no sense. Anyway I am
not happy about this and it will be jumped on like stink on a skunk!

Messages to me from members of this group....

Sue ~ www.suestinycostumes.com <sue@...>

While dealing with this spammer issue I've noticed that several members
have e-mailed me recently and unfortunately those messages haven't
reached me. If you would be so kind as to send them again or to post
them again please... well unless I didn't realize you'd e-mailed and
already anwered and then I'm just going bonkers this month! I would be
very appreciative of this. I hate Spammers... I get about 300 e-mails a
day and 1/3 are spam right now which is annoying..... thankfully I have
a decent spam filter which BTW I do check through the messages daily for
missed stuff!
Sorry about all this folks but it sure does wake one up in the morning
quick!

Beginning of the New Year starts some new classes....

Sue <sue@...>

Hi all and Happy New Year (would have been Merry Christmas/Happy
Holidays earlier this weekend but my host's server had Christmas gremlins!)
Thought I'd give everyone the heads up that the ///www.minidollu.com
<http://www.minidollu.com>/ classes are starting to take regstration
with the first class being a repeat of Pattern Drafting for Miniatures
101 for those that might have missed it! There are sculpting classes and
doll dressing classes along with wigging classes. Later in the Spring
there will be a "Ameera & Mistigris" -- lady and her horse class (I'm
going to try to get into that one myself! ;-) ) I'll also be running 102
Stylizations in late February and hopefully time permitting 103 which
will be for creating a Civil War gown and it's underpinnings possibly in
March or early April!
Check it out!

New Years sale...

Sue Darby ~ www.suestinycostumes.com <sue@...>

Since yesterday was nutty for some reason I had a bug to clean my bedroom and pack... sheesh about 12 boxes yesterday and my bedroom (worst in the house) is about half done!
Anyway I have 2 sales going on --- on for patterns and the other which is today and tomorrow exclusively for my 101 Mini dolls pattern drafting class which closes on the 5th.
Pre-announcement hint. I will be starting a larger dolls 101 come early Feb... target day is the 5th but could be as late as the 10th depending on how the move went and if I can find things yet! Just a heads up. I plan on making my lists more active this year!
Happy New Year!

Special Announcement Regarding Pattern Drafting for Miniatures 101!

Sue Darby ~ www.suestinycostumes.com <sue@...>

Due to a fluke in the system that hosts the Mini Doll U classes I have been asked to reschedule this month's Pattern Drafting for Miniatures 101 class. What does this mean for you? That I am re-opening sign ups until January 23rd!

New 101 dates: February 7th, 8th & 9th are the new dates. Everything else is the same!

Keep in mind that Stylizations 102 is February 21st & 23rd so both classes are very close together and this is the only time it will happen like this!

Details for both classes are on the Mini Doll U site www.minidollu.com or can also be found on my site under classes!

PS I'll have a seperate announcement for Larger Doll Drafting 101 shortly as well!

Larger Doll Classes....

Sue Darby ~ www.suestinycostumes.com <sue@...>

I wanted to drop a note to everyone to let you know that 101 and 101A for Larger Dolls is now taking sign ups and will officially start on Feb 5th (yup a weekend!). I've decided to restructure the classes a little and try the chat based class as it seems to be working well for the mini dolls. I have several chat times for both classes set in Central Time even though I'm Alaskan time! The class will run for 3 weeks (Sat only) and the sessions will generally go about an hour and a half give or take depending on the size of the group.

My goal is to get current students actually through the class in a reasonable amount of time. If you can't make it this time I'll be running the class again in a couple months!

I will close sign ups on Jan 23rd as that week I will be off the computer pretty much since I'm moving (hopefully) the following weekend! Full class details are on my site!

Ever want to make your own patterns from *your* design but don't know
where to start with drafting it? Pattern Drafting 101 for Dolls or Mini
Dolls will show you how to draft basic blocks or slopers for dolls which
can be turned into countless designs with a little imagination and
inguinuity! 2 seperate classes one for Miniature dolls and the other for
larger dolls!

I'll also be running 102 which is stylizations based on the blocks
drafted in 101!

ideas...

Hazel Dowd <hazel.dowd@...>

Hello Sue, I am probably your worst nightmare person. I draw out my patterns then cut out of kitchen paper, try them, cut and alter, re draw and then I am ready for making a gown etc. I have done this for years and crossed fingers its always worked.

For ideas, I am going more into modern, and would love to see some really nice suits and top coats. I remember a top coat I had at the end of 1950's beginning 60's it was quite flared, raglan sleeves and if you turned quickly, it swung out. Large handbags as well! Problem is with fabrics, they are not 1/12th scale so looking for that 'one' which will look right is a real pain.

Best Wishes to all

Hazel.
