White Wagtail from years back.
I wanted to inform you all that the California Bird Records Committee
just accepted, unanimously, the White Wagtail at the Coyote Creek Field
Station (formerly CCRS) from 1991. The dates were Dec 15 – 17, 1991. The
history of this record has been a difficult one. The bird was seen over a
couple of days, by several people involved with the banding operation back
then. The original report was not accepted, largely because there were no
photos, and a detailed drawing of the bird had gotten lost and not
submitted. Fortunately the drawing was re-found, the record re-analyzed and
now accepted. The following is the transcript from the CBRC with the data of
the initial observers. So way to go CCFS, another species added to the list,
at least officially.
