SoCal SOTAFest 2021

It's back! The 2nd annual SOTAFest, presented by SoCal SOTA. August 7-8, 2021

SOTAFest is your chance to fill your log with as many summit to summit QSOs as you can in a weekend! SoCal SOTA encourages all hams worldwide to join us from their favorite peak (or that new one they just can’t wait to climb). Let’s all get out and get those S2S contacts! This weekend also coincides with the Colorado 14er event., so we can expect to hear our favorite CO activators on the air.

In addition, those local to Southern California can join us at the Tanglewood Group Camp in Big Bear. There is a limit of 40 people and 8 cars, although there are plenty of parking places nearby if we exceed that limit. Make sure to join our mailing list for more details and to sign up.

Our Goal: To make personal connections with other ham radio operators and to advance the art and science of ultra-portable radio operation.

SoCal SOTA (Southern California Summits on the Air) is a public ham radio group. Everyone is free to join the group, irrespective of location or interest. If you are not an amateur radio operator, you are also welcome to join, as we meet on Zoom regularly. There are no membership dues and no commitments

You can join our twice a month calls using the following Zoom link. For information about the times and dates of our meetings, please visit this post.

SOTA (Summits on the Air) is an award scheme for radio amateurs that encourages portable operation in mountainous areas. You can find more information on the SOTA website here.

Check out our list of SOTA resources.

We're also on Instagram and Twitter!

You can also view past presentations on our YouTube channel. Please like, subscribe, and ring that bell!
