To anyone interested. I've only attended a virtual BoBfest, but the talks were good.

Hello Area Astronomers:

Seems like every year once the holidays wrap up we begin to get excited about BoBfest, The Annual Regional Gathering of Amateur Astronomers!  I remember drives to The Museum of Rock Hill with Bob Hunt for The Great Christmas Gift Show-Off and then trips to Gardner-Webb University for BoBfest, once BoB Eskridge and the Cleveland County Astronomical Society keep the tradition going but with their new format.

Now, some 31 trips around the sun later, the BoBfest tradition and the excitement for seeing old friends, making new friends and learning new things continues!

On January 28, 2023 doors on BoBfest 2023 will open at the West Wing of The Catawba Science Center at 8:30am with a welcome and announcements followed by the first presentation at 9:30am.

Our keynote speakers will be:

Corrie Ann Delgado, Solar System Ambassador, “Through the Eyes of the James Webb Space Telescope”

Michael Rehnberg, Meteorologist at Greenville-Spartanbert Office of the National Weather Service, “When Clear Skies Aren’t Enough:  Weather Forecasting For Amateur Astronomers.

As in recent years we will have afternoon table top talk breakouts, plenty of gastronomical goodies all day long, food trucks for lunch, and door prizes galore to wrap up the day.  BoBfest Marketplace will be open all day too!

A new feature this year will be an astrophotography display in honor of our friend, Barre Spencer, who we lost in June.

To honor our longtime friend and Astronomy Club Member, Barre Spencer, and to continue his lifelong love of photography and astrophotography, it is our pleasure to introduce the 1ST ANNUAL BARRE SPENCER ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST.
The contest will be held at the annual BoBfest, or Regional Gathering of Amateur Astronomers meeting in January of each year.
The contest will be open to all attendees at the annual event and contestants must be present at the event to win an award
