Sweet Springs Breeding Bird survey
Kaaren Perry
This morning, bright and early, our Sweet Springs breeding bird survey team kicked off our 10th year of recording breeding activity at SSPreserve. As usual, our first surveyors of the season were greeted by the sound of singing!!. Songs of White-crowned Sparrows, Oak Titmouse, Song Sparrows and Dark-eyed Juncos were perhaps most commonly heard this morning. Most prominent because of both frequency and volume were the singing Common Yellowthroats.

Our MCAS survey team members for 2023 are - Joanne Aasen, Jay Carroll, Mark Mushkat, Judy Neuhauser, Kaaren Perry, Robbie Revel. Max Taylor. I always find the first count of the season especially exciting because we all know the new season is just beginning! So much will happen over the next 4 months at the preserve. 🐣 Kaaren Perry Morro Bay |
