I returned home on
March 20, after a week away, to find our
FOS male Hooded Oriole and male Bullock’s Oriole attending our feeders. Both species have been registered daily since then, with 2 male Bullock’s confirmed on the 25th, and our first female Bullock’s yesterday (3/26). Yesterday, we also confirmed the presence of 2 male Hooded Orioles, but have yet to see a female Hooded this spring.
We have had multiple Selasphorus hummingbirds at the feeders for the past week, including at least 2 adult male Rufous Hummingbirds for each of the last several days.
Just 15 minutes ago, Susan called me out of my office to see our FOS male Black-headed Grosbeak at one of the sunflower seed feeders, and while we were watching that individual, a second male landed on another feeder.
The boys are back in town, the boys are back in town….
