Recap of today's rare birds in SLO County

The male Golden-winged Warbler and Chestnut-sided Warbler continued at Meadow Park in San Luis Obispo today.

 

Curtis Marantz, Brian Daniels, and Tom Wurster reported a few interesting birds today from the south county.

 

Pismo State Beach Oceano Campground: continuing Yellow-green Warbler (willows along Pier Ave), 1-2 Black-and-white Warbler, Blackpoll Warbler, adult male Northern Parula, 2-3 Pygmy Nuthatch (rare in county away from Cambria/San Simeon)

 

Pismo Creek Mouth: 2 Tropical Kingbirds, continuing juvenile Reddish Egret

 

Arroyo Grande Creek Mouth: juvenile Baird’s Sandpiper (late), male Greater Scaup

 

In addition, I found a late immature Blue Grosbeak along Cabrillo Ave in Cayucos.
