Pismo Creek Mouth, Negative Report

Brad Schram

The mouth of Pismo Creek is flooded today with little muddy edge for shorebirds, if any, to exploit.  This morning there were no (zero) shorebirds of any species either at the creek mouth or on the beach between Pismo pier and the creek mouth.

The gull flock (maybe 40 birds total) included no terns, and no gulls other than Western and summering California, all in various stages of molt and general shabbiness.  The Californias in particular looked like they had been assembled from a spare parts bin of random plumages and stages of molt.
