Pacific Golden-Plover, Morro Bay State Park Marina Boardwalk, 11/15

One was seen from the first section of the boardwalk this morning after the tidal peak. This bird was in the pickleweed and therefore the legs were never seen. Carol Comeau reported the continuing bird with a tumor on its leg at the Sea Pines Golf Course this morning. It seems unlikely, though not impossible, that bird would have flown 2.5 miles across the bay to the boardwalk. If only the legs had been visible.

A large-billed Savannah Sparrow was also seen from the boardwalk this morning. Earlier, scoping from the Ridgecrest Trail parking area off South Bay Blvd I saw two male Eurasian Wigeon, both of which were molting into winter plumage.
