Morro Creek, Jun 3

Tom Edell

I checked Lila Keiser Park and walked Morro Creek this morning. The most interesting birds were a very late Ruby-crowned Kinglet and the first Ash-throated Flycatcher ever recorded at this location. Most kinglets depart from the county by the end of April with a few late birds seen into mid-May, and it is very rare after that. This is the first June record for the county. Ash-throated Flycatcher is expected in the county during the breeding season, but is normally absent from the immediate coast until post breeding.
