- Comments: "Apparently the continuing immature male last reported here on 27 Nov 2022. First seen this morning just before 10:00 am and again at 10:27, both times feeding in the west most New Zealand Christmas Tree. The first sighting was a brief look as it fed on flowers at top of tree. I Identified the bird by its size and broad double lobed (notched) spread tail. Later saw a smaller RU/ALHU for size comparison. Second sighting was also brief (total viewing time both visits was under 30 seconds), but the bird hovered at one flower long enough for one burst of poor photos. I only saw the over all size and shape again, but the photos show the blue tail feathers, mottled green and brown upper parts, and red based and dark tipped bill."

Saw it 4 times in the northern-most New Zealand Christmas Tree of the 3 that are planted in a row just south of the bathrooms. Heard it's rattling sound each time before it would appear. The first three times, with only the naked eye (couldn't get my bins on it fast enough), it just looked like a hummingbird, but I could not tell what kind. Fluttered a lot, but did not look or sound like an Anna's. The fourth time, it was high up and from my vantage point, just looked like a large bumblebee - but it had an orange bill! Tada! My lifer bird! My birding buddy, Marlin, got it's picture to confirm the sighting. Will post later."

- Comments: "Continuing since 2022. I last logged this bird on Feb 16 (https://ebird.org/checklist/S128460962). This was my fifth sighting of the bird since rediscovering it on Jan. 27. Saw its white undertail and lime outer plumage above me in same mid-park bottlebrush trees as previously noted (just east of mid park bridge). Also noted its dark eyeline, pale supercilium and yellow throat. Managed one awful blurry pic of its head. It continued deep in canopy, often chased by yellow-rumped warblers. Called a couple of times: sweet and metallic chip. As mentioned, one terrible photo."
