Pacific Golden-Plover (Pluvialis fulva) (1)
- Reported Aug 17, 2020 09:30 by Roger Zachary
- Point Sierra Nevada Beach, San Luis Obispo, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&q=35.717177,-121.3134003&ll=35.717177,-121.3134003
- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S72516734
- Media: 1 Photo
- Comments: "Walked to the beach then south to the point and back...no plover; when returning we saw it near the shoreline feeding; there was only 1 other person on the beach and he walked along the shore not noticing the bird and caused it to fly off; gees what timing? I got some good looks at the bird on the beach as well as it was flying away (too quick for a photo); it was last reported by Jay Carroll on Aug. 13; beforehand I had checked the ebird reports and viewed Jay's image of the bird; I would guess it was same bird; it did have a short primary projection and when it flew off a dark rump and tail; as we walked back up from the beach we saw it out in the field; it was hazy and the bird had his back to us; this photo is by no means an ID image; shortly afterwards it flew over the dunes towards the beach"
