- Comments: "This bird was found by Mark Stephensen and confirmed by several other birders before I saw it. I saw it on a utility wire. It was a stocky kingbird with a black head, black bill (smallish for a kingbird), white throat and white underparts with light gray in the chest and dark gray upper parts. The black tail had a white tip and a thin white outer edge. It called a couple if time, a sharp, quick, high pitched “kiteek, kiteek”. It was flying out from the wire and catching insects. It was a very active bird."

- Comments: "The Eastern Kingbird was found and reported earlier this morning by Lucas and Mark Stephenson on wires near the Visitor’s Center. I relocated presumably the same bird in the early afternoon about 0.6 mile south of the original location at the base of Baggar Trail. The bird had contrasting blackish-brown upperparts and white underparts with white edgings to its tail. [ 35.26694,-120.88738 ]"

- Comments: "The bird’s upperparts were olive-green and underparts white with a grayish cap; white supercilium, blackish eye line and reddish iris. It was observed near at the base of the Oats Peak Trail for about a half hour. The bird was found and reported earlier this morning by Lucas and Mark Stephenson."

Black stripe over white eyebrow over red eye seen as it poked its head out of the canopy of leaves in the coffee berry bush right off the trailhead by the maintenance yard in the campground. Very white undersides visible inside bush and brownish olive back seen as it flew about."

Largish dark bill, red eye seen when bird popped briefly into the sun light in pale eye stripe. Marks above and below eye stripe not particularly dark, pale undersides, back looked grayish but only seen in shadows"

- Comments: "This was another stake-out bird. Several others were on the bird when I arrived. It was a bit skulky and took a while to refind. It eventually came out into the open and I could see a large vireo with a long grayish bill, gray crown, white supercilium, and dark eyeline through the lores. It had drab green upper parts and lacked conspicuous wingbars. It had whitish underparts, and a faint yellow wash in the undertail. I did not see the red eye well."

- Comments: "Found by Jim Royer. We joined Jim near the intersection of Nancy and Garden to see the warbler. The warbler was seen flying to various trees and shrubs. It sat on the telephone wire for a minute. It also flew into the bottle brush by the Garden Street feeders as well as the bottle brush along the side of the corner house. It would sing occasionally."

- Comments: "Singing adult male with olive-green upper-parts, no conspicuous wing-bars, grayish crown contrasting with olive-green back, dark line through the eye, light supercilium, faint yellow wash on the flanks, sides and throat of otherwise whitish unmarked underparts, with whitish undertail. Small, sharp, dark warbler bill. The bird sang a long and high pitch quickly-phrased song. Bird was seen by Jeff Miller, John Roser, Carol Comeau, Ian and Pat Vaughn, Larry Owens, and others."

I am not looking forward to his leave-taking and was very happy to see him today, tossing his head back and singing so sweetly."

- Comments: "An adult male Myrtle Warbler in breeding plumage was first heard singing and later observed near the south end (35.260864, -120.683201) of the lake this morning. The bird was gray (some brown) above, with black cheeks and streaks on back; white crescents above and below eye, yellow crown-patch on head with yellow patches on sides.

eBird database has no documentation of this species recorded in SLO County during the months of June, July and August."
