Tennessee Warbler, Eurasian Wigeon, 11/30

Tom Edell

This morning the continuing Tennessee Warbler at Meadow Park was in the bottle brush trees at the eastern end of the park where the small concrete drainage crosses the southern foot path. At least one White-throated Sparrow was toward the western end of the park (east of Exposition Ave) by a northern side condo with feed dishes on its downstairs patio railing. A calling hybrid yellow-shafted x red-shafted Northern Flicker was in the same area.

At Laguna Lake, a male Eurasian Wigeon was at the northwest end of Laguna Lake and at least one Barn Swallow and about 6 White-throated Swifts were flying over the same area. This is the second Eurasian Wigeon reported in the Morro Bay CBC circle in two days with an immature male off Sweet Springs yesterday.

When I returned home, I was pleasantly surprised to find a Nashville Warbler at the water feature. Seems to me more than normal lingering into December this year.

I have two White-throated sparrows  in my SLO yard, also a Lincoln Sparrow, and a  Fox Sparrow.
