Long-billed Curlew update- LV Neil

In May of 2021 LV Neil was banded and satellite tagged in Meadows Valley in the west central mountains of Idaho.  This is 45 miles north of MV Dozer's breeding grounds in Indian Valley.  Dozer and Neil were the first tracked curlews to overwinter on the coast of California. When Neil was in the Morro Bay area, he liked to alternate between the sand-spit and the bay.

On Dec. 28th Neil moved to the Central Valley near Merced. His last satellite reading in CA was near Merced on Sat., March 27th. By March 29th he was back in Idaho.

Best wishes to Neil for a successful and safe breeding season.
