2nd Los Osos Redstart

Jim Royer

I found an American Redstart in the trees of Pecho Willows this afternoon. It appeared to be a female. It was actively feeding and it called infrequently, just to the right of the main trail that starts near the end of Henrietta at Pecho. It fanned it’s tail to show the yellow sides of the upper tail and did not appear to have the dark blotches in the head and chest, like the bird on Nancy.
