Oso Flaco Lake - you may never bird there again
I did not see any rare or unusual bird species at Oso Flaco Lake this morning. However I did see a DEIR, which is the 4-letter code for the Draft Environmental Impact Report that State Parks is using

Re: Possible Black Rail Cypress Ridge Golf Course
Apologies, I just found out that this bird is on private property and may involve trespassing without first obtaining permission to bird there.

Recent SLO County Birds
Yesterday morning there was a Rough-legged Hawk along Soda Lake Road in the Carrizo. It was seen where the road transitions from asphalt to gravel a little ways past the turnoff for Selby Campground.

Zone-tailed Hawk, etc. for January 1
I was out most of today seeing how many species I could find walking and cycling.
Highlights included a Zone-tailed Hawk at about 7:30 am as it flew by the edge of the bay from a vulture morning roost
