A brief stop at the first pond east of South Bay Rd. this morning had a few surprises.  2 juvenile Lesser Yellowlegs and a Wilson's Phalarope were actively feeding with 5 Greater Yellowlegs.  No other shore birds were present at the time. The mixed flock was observed for about 5 minutes before all flew off, heading west.  Flight calls of both yellowlegs species was heard.
