Red-naped Sapsucker in Atascadero

This morning (Tuesday 3/24) at about 0830h, I photographed a phenotypically typical female Red-Naped Sapsucker as it foraged in one of the live oaks off of our front deck. The bird remained in the tree for about 10-15 minutes, until dislodged by a California Scrub-Jay, at which point, it flew east across Graves Creek and out of sight.
